Description: The thallus is white to grey and rather smooth and with age cracks towards the centre. The prothallus is white. Apothecia tend to be crowded together into groups and are small with diameters ranging from 0.5 mm to 1.5 mm. The discs are convex and vary in colour from cream to creamy-purple to reddish-brown and Chemical Tests: Thallus: K + (yellow), C -, Pd -; the apothecia react as C + (yellow-orange).
Nature Notes: Found typically on twigs and small branches of deciduous trees.
