Sawn-wood and worked timber, old fences, gates etc.
Some lichens are specific to the worked timber or sawn‐wood substrate. They tend to be ‘early colonisers’. Because sawn wood/worked timber is associated with man you will find that many of the lichens are urban (town) and rural (fencing on farms).
