Open areas with remnant trees in pasture
Open areas refers to remnant trees of old woodland in pastures such as the ash in this photo. These trees receive plenty of sunlight and usually have a rich lichen flora although this may be dictated by pollution levels in the surrounding countryside. Lichens found here may be found in other woodland types.
